A Dundalk FC jersey worn by David McMillan when he scored away to BATE Borisov in a Champions League qualifier in 2015 has sold for €2,000.
The striker, now playing with Scottish Premier League side St Johnstone, placed the signed number 9 jersey up for auction last Friday to raise money for a close friend who is seeking costly medical treatment abroad.
McMillan, who left Oriel Park at the end of the 2017 season, also auctioned a signed photograph of his first goal against BATE Borisov in the 2016 Champions League qualifiers, bringing in a total of €2,250 in total.
McMillan said: “A massive thank you to the winner who has bought both items for a brilliant total of €2250!!! The winner has chosen to stay anonymous but I am sincerely grateful to them. To all those who bid thank you very much for your support its much appreciated!”
