Former Dundalk FC midfielder Georgie Poynton has joined SSE Airtricity League Premier Division rivals St Patrick’s Athletic.
The 21-year-old left Oriel Park earlier this month after five years at the club.
The Republic of Ireland underage international became the club’s youngest ever player to sign a pro deal at Oriel Park in February 2014 at the age of just 16, after impressing for the Lilywhites’ Under-19 panel following a move from East Meath United in August 2013.
Poynton said he was hoping to show people what he could do at Pat’s after being a fringe player for many years during his time at Dundalk.
