Dundalk boxer Amy Broadhurst has made it into the quarter-finals of the Women’s World Boxing Championships in Russia.
The lightweight won via unanimous decision against Poland’s Aneta Rygielska in Siberia this morning morning.
The 22-year-old is now just one win away from a medal in Russia.
She will meet Finland’s number one seed Mira Potkonen in the last eight on Thursday with at least bronze up for grabs.
The bout is a repeat of August’s European Elite semi-final which the Finn won in Madrid.
