Trial of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe’s murder accused to begin this month

The trial of the man accused of murdering Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe in Bellurgan more than six years ago will begin later this month.

Aaron Brady (27) from New Road, Crossmaglen, Co Armagh was charged in March last year with the murder of a member of An Garda Síochána in the course of his duty at Lordship Credit Union on January 25th 2013.

Justice Michael White listed the trial to begin on October 21st at the Central Criminal Court yesterday.

He agreed to empanel a 15-person jury after Brendan Grehan SC for the prosecution suggested the trial could continue into January 2020.
