Plans have been drawn up to convert the former Fiddlers pub on Barrack Street into a three bed apartment.
The Fiddlers was placed up for sale two years ago by local estate agents REA Gunne Property but it appears new owner Hugh Morgan has other plans for it than reopening it as a licensed premises.
Talk of the Town has learned that the local businessman intends to apply for planning permission to Louth County Council to change the use of the pub at 104 Barrack Street into a 3 bed residential apartment at ground floor level with all associated internal works.
As part of his application he will also seek to remove the existing signage associated with the pub and reinstate a previously blocked up window on the eastern elevation.
Mr Morgan’s application is due to be submitted to the local authority shortly.
