The average price of a house in Dundalk fell back yet again in January.
The latest Residential Property Price Index from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows that the mean house price in the town now stands at €209,940.
This was down 1.1% from €212,216 in the the year to December when prices had also fallen by a further 0.6% from the figure of €213,635 recorded in the year to November.
Despite the latest decline prices were still up €19,226 on January 2018 when the median house price stood at €190,714. This represents a year on year increase of 10.1%.
Prices in Louth as a whole also fell back 0.4% in the year to January from €217,065 to €216,100.
This was despite prices in Drogheda increasing ever so slightly by €33 from €246,314 to €246,347.
The median asking price in Dundalk also fell back by €25 to €209,975. Meanwhile in Drogheda it was unchanged at €245,000. In Louth it fell €1,000 in January to €210,000.
