Dundalk Dog Rescue have been given the go ahead for a series of changes to their new Dog Rescue Centre at Whiterath in Dromiskin.

In January 2018 the voluntary group were granted conditional planning permission for the new facility, the fundraising for which is underway.

Now Dundalk Dog Rescue have been given the go ahead to reduce the overall footprint of the proposed extension with the number of kennels being reduced from 45 to 40.

They are also proposing the provision of a dedicated/dog carer residence linked to the existing building via a covered walkway and screen wall and a revised layout of the car parking area which would include the reduction in the total number of bays.

An amended public lighting layout has also been given the go ahead as well as the removal of ancillary storage buildings.

It is also planned to upgrade the existing site access.
