Dundalk’s newest dining experience ‘The Townhouse’ will open its doors to the public for the first time this Saturday.
Run by husband and wife team John and Sarah Kenwright, The Townhouse is located at 5 Roden Place, opposite St Patrick’s Cathedral, in the former Eno’ premises which closed down last month.
John will be owner and head chef and is very familiar with the workings of 5 Roden Place as he was the head chef of Eno’
The opportunity arose towards the end of last year for John and Sarah to make the leap to become restaurateurs and they grabbed it with both hands, scared yet excited for the challenges that will lie ahead.
As head chef of Eno, he knew his customers and wants to welcome them to The Townhouse where they might recognise some of their favourite dishes as well as a mix of new dishes for the new clientele he also hopes to attract.
John said: “We are hoping our restaurant will provide the people of Dundalk with a space for friends to catch up, couples to dine out, families to come together and business minds to meet.
“The Townhouse will offer different dining options with different priced menus in a smart-casual dining room as well as in our funky tapas and cocktail lounge upstairs. Private dining options are also available for team meetings, parties, christenings, communions, confirmations and small weddings.”
With 20 years of experience in the kitchen John has worked with, and for, some of the best chefs in the country, in some of the country’s top restaurants; namely, Shanahan’s on the Green, Dublin, The Metropolitan, Letterkenny, The Nuremore Hotel, Carrickmacross, The Leftbank, Dundalk and The Merrion Hotel, Dublin. As a chef his passion is delivering fresh food, using local produce, creating tasty dishes that people enjoy, enticing them back for more. As owners both he and Sarah want to deliver an experience that offers good quality food and drink at affordable prices.
One of The Townhouse’s unique points is the Wood Fired Oven where delicious authentic Italian pizzas and other dishes will be fired up.
The Townhouse will be open to the public this Saturday 9th February from 5pm with an early bird menu from 5-6:30pm and the a la carte menu all evening. Reservations can also be taken by calling 042 9355467. Further details are available on their Facebook page here.
