Revenue officers yesterday seized approximately 12,000 cigarettes during a search, under warrant, of a residence in Co. Louth, with the assistance of detector dog Bill.
The cigarettes, branded ‘Minsk’, ‘NZ’ and ‘1,69’, have an estimated retail value of over €7,600, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of €6,000.
A Lithuanian woman was questioned and investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
